Kehillat Beijing

Founded in 1979, the Kehillat Beijing Foundation supports Jewish life in Beijing, around China, and across the world. We host Shabbat services and dinner each and every Friday night beginning at 7:00pm, in addition to a range of holiday celebrations, educational opportunities, and community retreats and excursions into one of the world's greatest cities.

Have a question about Jewish life in Beijing? Leon Fenster helps with the organizing and logisticating for the Kehillat Community, and also answers the emails. Shoot him an email at info@sinogogue.org with questions you might have about traveling in China, attending services, or where to get the best dumplings in town.

You can't miss the 50-story Capital Mansion building, but finding where we actually hold services is tricky. Our building is in the Capital Club, which is to the west of the 50-story building. Thankfully, we've assembled a Photo Guide to help you get to where we meet. Click here to see the full photo guide

The Capital Mansion is located just inside the Third Ring Road in Beijing’s northeast Chaoyang District, close to the Liangmaqiao Subway Station. The building is not too far from several international hotels, including the Beijing Hilton and Sheraton Great Wall.

Most Beijing taxi drivers know the Capital Mansion (Jingcheng Dasha / 京城大厦) complex in which the Athletic Center is located. Taxis will take you to the 50-story building in the complex with little difficulty, especially if you provide them with the Chinese characters above. The tricky part is that we do not convene at the Capital Club on the 50th Floor, but rather in its Athletic Center (Jingcheng Julebu Jianshen Zhongxin / 京城俱乐部健身中心). If you’ve gotten to the portico of the tall Capital Mansion building you aren’t far away; just ask how to walk to the Athletic Center (or, use our handy-dandy Photo Guide to get there). If it’s cold, you can even do it indoors. The Athletic Center is set-back behind the bank of low-rise apartments. Upon entering the main entrance of the complex turn right – away from the high-rise tower and follow the drive along the low-rise apartments until you can see the western side gate exit. At the last building before the exit there is an underpass labeled Capital Club. Walk through to reach the Athletic Center.

By Subway

It’s less than ten minutes walking from LiangMaQiao subway station on line 10 to the Capital Club. From the LiangMaQiao station, take Exit A and walk west (passing the Westin Hotel on your right, and the Kunlun Hotel on the opposite side of the street) on LiangMaQiao Road for for just over one long block to a traffic light. Just after the traffic light, you will see the Capital Club on your left (it's the 50 story building, you can't miss it!). Use our handy-dandy photo guide to have this entire journey illustrated for you.

The Capital Club has provided Kehillat Beijing with its home for more than twenty years. The Capital Club has offered its facilities as a “home” to Kehillat Beijing, and other religious communities, as part of its effort to play an active role in the local community.
